It's been a while since one of these was posted so I thought I'd bring you one. Since Blue is on leave and The is asleep right now, I figured I would post this since I've just finished a very large update, which brought us more stuff to play with. I should note that despite these updates coming in four parts, I will be including them all here. The reason they were done in four parts was to release them as soon as possible rather than releasing it all in one huge bulk. I will start with the biggest features and explain them...

Purchasable themes (v1.3 R4)
The thing I'm pestered about most of the time is "When will be able to use themes?". I know not all of us like the default Gravity Rebellion theme, and I understand that fully. This has been on my list since we launched but I wanted to create an entire new system of how themes are used for a few reasons...

  1. A further expenditure option for the community to waste use their Credits for.
  2. Themes cannot be used unless they are owned.
  3. More than one default theme can be used.
  4. Owning multiple themes
Themes can be purchased from the Themes store for a high price, but if you're unable to afford a theme right now don't worry, all themes will be usable as Default Themes for a while (I haven't got a date in mind just yet). The themes do still need some fixing which I will get around to in the future, and more will be added thanks to /p/the
I'd also like to thank /p/bug who helped test the system before release

Third generation Pokémon (v1.3 R1)
You can now own/buy third generation Pokémon from the Pokémon store. I know it's been a while since a generation had been added for sale but I ran into an issue with the sprites we were using (I'll get onto this) and their IDs. However this has been fixed and they're available for purchase.

New badges! (all, except v1.3 R3)
We had a problem with economic inflation here at Gravity since so many people had nothing to spend their Credits on but we also had the problem of Credits being too hard to earn. So after discussion with Staff we do have some things planned on how to solve these issues (although nothing will be confirmed as of yet). It was clear to me that badges were a favourite feature here at Gravity, so I made a new rule for myself: if you're releasing a large update, add a badge bulk (5 or more) with it. We now have loads of new badges that range from TV shows and movies to anime. I watched Bug's Credits go from nearly 400 to about 60 because there were so many new badges he wanted to buy. So I'll be doing this in the future too.

Lowered prices
Prices of badges and Pokémon have been lowered so people who are finding it hard to earn can still afford them. Whilst badges only got a 25% cut of 10 Credits, Pokémon got a whole 50% cut off their prices. This made legendaries 150 Credits from their previous 300 price tag. This should make purchasing things a lot easier.

Member emotes
/p/blue thankfully put together a list of people he considered to be members of the community. This means that we consider you an asset to our community. To recognise this officially, you were awarded with your own emoticon which would be used throughout Gravity next to your username and be able to be used in posts. I'm still awaiting a few people's emote choices but so far we have...

  • Ferby (myself)
  • zbug (bug)
  • Copy Cat Master
  • James (The)
  • Flying Cat
  • FatCat
  • Owen
Next to their names you'll notice an emote of their own choice, which represents who they are as a person (or at least represents their username). I believe me and CCM had a problem with his choices as we couldn't think of a good one, and Owen had trouble just deciding one to begin with. But other than that choices were made pretty flawlessly and I'm happy people are finally recognised officially as one of the community as that is something I, myself, consider very important here: our community.

Badge page updates (v1.3 R2, 1.3 R3, 1.3 R4)
Badges will now display newest to oldest so you're able to view which badges have just been added (this took so long to get right, you have no idea), and badges that aren't for sale will not be listed. At the moment there is a minor bug which is problematic. Each badge page has 15 slots in which badges display. At the moment badges that aren't for sale will still take up a slot but are hidden. So because of this some badges may have less than 15 badges on them (page 4 has all of them hidden, sadly). This is on my to-do list to fix.

The Constitution page
If you're interested in what rights you have as a member or interested in what rules the staff team have to abide by, or how the democratic process works then you can read our constitution via its own page. If it looks too much for you then I took the time to write a user-friendly version by suggestion of FatCat (also included on that page).

Image stretching the board
This was problematic for me for a while as I wanted to have some sort of fancy system for this, but ultimately I took the easy route. Images in posts and signatures (i.e. posted images) will now have a maximum width of 650px.

Collections on profiles (v1.3 R2)
You'll notice that badges and Pokémon now display differently on your profile page compared to a post (such as this). Badges are slightly bigger on the profile page so they're not so icon-like.

Everything else can be seen on the changelog page.

I have more updates in mind for the future, but my next focus is Pokémon. I want to improve the Pokémon store as well as have a better system for collecting them since purchasing just a few costs a lot but prices need to remain not-cheap (don't know the word for it  ) so Staff aren't inconvenienced when approving purchases (which is already on my to-do list to be less of a pain).

Thanks for your suggestions and your contribution to our community. I hope you all have had a nice weekend :)

Eh, I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd prefer WD III over more Pokemon, will we be having one anytime soon?

World Domination is not a development related thing, so I won't be prioritising anything over it. It's simple a matter of when I am determined to re-write the rules of the game to become more understandable (it's a tedious task, you must understand). Lately development has taken a lot of my motivation so even the next update won't come for a while yet. I understand you'd like to battle me and lose but please you'll have to give me some time :)

Alright, alright. Just that activity seems to go up when there's a WD game going. Wonder why.

@The, I thought flying cat wanted to do it.

Nice job on the update! This looks great.
And @Tazzy and The I did want to do it but it wouldn't let me start a topic in the competitions section. I will try to do it now.
Yep it still wont let me post a topic.

It's probably set so only staff can start a topic in it.

It is. Otherwise irresponsible members would go and post silly stuff :ccm:

But I'm more than willing to move the topic for you :)

Why don't we play the game in forum games, and when it over, lock the thread and move it to events and competitions.
