I will admit, the art for Celeste's new skin looks good, but I need to see it from a VG perspective before I like or dislike it.

Also, for other Gravity members: I've been thinking about having Taz and me (and anyone else in different server ranges) set up shared Gravity forum VG accounts. Obviously everyone has to have their own separate account so nobody can just sit on one of these accounts forever - they are of course intended for any member to use so they can play with other users on different server ranges. Any newer players can also use them to get a feel for VG and whether they want to play more. Thoughts?

Depends on what you mean by 'next biggest thing'. Take Fallout 4 for example. I know you don't play, or have any intention of playing it in the near future, but you must have seen the hype over it. In comparison Vainglory is tiny. MOBAs get very little hype these days compared to other genres, and mobile gaming is often considered the lowest of the low - I'm not going to go into whether I think that's just or not. Even if Vainglory gets hype, I don't agree with 'next biggest thing'.

Pfft...I highly disagree with your statement about how MOBAs get very little hype nowadays. As far as I know, the genre is still going strong.

When you think about it though, the balance is slowly shitfing towards mobile, simply because of it's convenience. There's a reason I don't play computer games.

Think Angry Birds kind of big.

But you may be right. In any event, I just want to be able to quote that if it does happen.

You're answering a completely different question. Yes, the genre is still going strong, but most people regard MOBAs as effectively being the same game in slightly different forms. So the hype is nonexistent these days. And of course, I am talking comparatively. Sure, a new 'big' MOBA will get coverage, but compared to some games - take Fallout 4 for example - then the coverage is tiny. Sure it'll have players, but it won't be regarded as one of the biggest games of the year.

Yes and no. Sure, mobile is becoming a more viable platform as phones get more and more powerful, and I have no doubt that when VR starts to become mass market, it'll grow even larger (Google Cardboard for instance uses an Android phone to provide VR/AR). But PCs (and other consoles to a lesser extent) are also becoming more powerful over time. And it'll be a while before cultural change starts to kick in that mobile gaming is a good platform to work with - big name games will remain console and PC focused for the moment.

And I repeat myself slightly here: Angry Birds, although big, has never been Big Name Game big - at least in my eyes. But still, being that big is a great thing, but I find it highly unlikely that it will be that big, because playing a single Angry Birds level can be a one or two minute 'may as well' moment, whereas playing a single VG game can be a half hour commitment. I find it unlikely that it'll be as big as Angry Birds because of that.
